Our FAVORITE time of the month – we LOVE First Fridays! Thank you to the Kansas City Star and Jill Silva for having us back again! As usual, the evening did not disappoint – there were lines every where from the second we pulled in. We were the last truck out of the lot after going full blast all night. It’s always such a pleasure to meet new people – we met some new friends from Mt. Vernon that just happened to be visiting on the best weekend ever and some others who were excited to see E.F. Hobbs Specialty Coffee logo shows “Shawnee KS” because they’re from Shawnee too. Hopefully we’ll see the pictures they took
. And we can’t forget the guy who reluctantly tried a slice of coffeecake only to come back and get 3 more – even though he was skeptical when we said EVERYTHING on our truck is good! Kansas City First Fridays are definitely the highlight of every month for CoffeeCakeKC. If you haven’t been – make a date with October’s!
The next morning we were back at the Good JuJu in the West Bottoms for the day’s shoppers, but got booted out of there in the early afternoon by a torrential downpour that, not only wasn’t supposed to show up until much later, but also left all of the businesses without power. Gotta love that Kansas City weather – 102 degrees one day and within 24 hours and a crazy storm, literally 30 degrees cooler.
